The Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame began inducting Athletes, Builders, and Teams in 1982. Since that time, over 200 men and women from all across our region have been honoured for their outstanding contributions to our rich and proud sports heritage.

The selection of an individual or team to the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame is especially significant because it truly is a public process. In order for someone to be considered for election to the Hall of Fame, they must first be nominated by the public, and then selected by an independent Selection Committee of 8 individuals from across the region.

All nominations must be made on an Official Nomination Form.
The deadline for the receipt of nominations to the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame is January 31st of each year.
