In our effort to ensure the safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers and do our part in helping to reduce the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus, the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame is temporarily closing its administration offices, exhibit galleries and archives to the public and cancelling all planned tours and programming activities effective Tuesday, March 17th.

Tbaytel Heritage Classic Doubles Funspiel

Plans are in place for our 2019 Tbaytel Heritage ClassicDoubles Funspiel being held at the Fort William Curling Club on Friday, November 15th & Saturday, November 16th. Little League Reunion Luncheon - September 2nd 2017

As part of Canada 150 Celebrations and the hosting of the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup the (Members of the 1964 Fort William Nationals Senior Little League Team)Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame hosted a day in honour of our proud Little League Baseball legacy by inviting players and personnel affiliated with the 12 Little League teams from our community who have won Canadian Championship titles to join together for a day of activities and the chance to reminisce and reunite with teammates. A Century of Sport in the Finnish Community of Thunder Bay was recognized by the International Sports Heritage Association (ISHA) with a Communication Award in the book category and was also judged Best In Show by the close to 100 conference delegates attending the international conference Copies of the book are available at a cost of $25 each and can be purchased at the Northwestern Ontario Sports Hall of Fame, ordered through our online store or by mailing in an order form. 2019 Fame 600 Club Lottery

The 2019 edition of our Fame 600 Club Lottery has begun. $50 will get you 50 chances to win.  A total of 40 cash prizes will be awarded with draws of $50, $100, $250, $500 and $1,000.  There are 10 sport-themed prizes including such items as tickets to the Chicago Blackhawks, Winnipeg Blue Bombers and a PK Subban Nashville Predators jersey. Draws will be held between July 22nd, 2019 and September 4th, 2019.

2019 Fred Bragnalo Memorial Golf Tournament a Hit!

Our 32nd Annual Golf Tournament, the Fred Bragnalo Memorial took place on Monday, July 22nd at the Fort William Golf & Country Club. Thanks to the support of our golfers, sponsors, prize donors and volunteers we were able to raise over $21,000 for the Sports Hall of Fame. Read more....
